Michael Geissinger, of Marshfield, was selected to receive one of two 2016 National FFA Scholarships sponsored by Riesterer & Schnell.
The scholarship is worth $2,000 toward the 2016-2017 academic school year.
Geissinger will graduate from Stratford High School in May as the valedictorian of his class of 72 with a 4.0 GPA. He plans to pursue a degree in Agronomy & Crop Science at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. With his degree, Geissinger hopes to pursue a career as a farmer and plant breeding scientist or an agronomist.
Geissinger has been a member of the Stratford High School FFA Chapter for four years. He served as an officer in his chapter as well as at the local level. In his scholarship statement, Geissinger said, “This scholarship will go one step further than just funding an education. This scholarship funds the future of agriculture, and I want to be a part of the bright future that American agriculture holds.”
Geissinger is the son of Gregory and Gail Geissinger.
