Overview:

The Store Manager will be a selling manager, about 50% of responsibility will be to sell equipment and manage key account customers. They will also provide leadership in all aspects of the store, including physical, financial, and people resources in the deployment of the business plan. They will provide a work environment that will optimize the profitable growth of the store, the personal growth of employees, and the satisfaction of customers.

Essential Functions:

  1. Focus on generating sales revenue and building strong relationships with key customers
  2. Leads the store development and deployment of a comprehensive sales strategy and long-term plans which integrates the business’ values, mission, resources and goals
  3. Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of the store
  4. Oversee the day to day operations of the store including the sales, service, and parts departments
  5. Ensure that all departments within the store are working toward the common goal of the company
  6. Ensures that appropriate communications take place with and across all departments at the store location(s) which may include leading regular department management staff meetings and all employee meetings
  7. Develops and maintains a positive relationship with all existing and new customers and resolves any elevated customer issues
  8. Works with the Parts and Service Managers to promote profitability and customer satisfaction
  9. Provides input to the hiring, development, and coaching, evaluation, and effectiveness of the management team and other employees within their store on a regular basis
  10. Coordinates with Marketing to plan and execute all store functions, open-houses, community involvement and presence
  11. Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service. Manages on-going relationships with key John Deere personnel
  12. Supports corporate managers in implementing changes in any department within the location

Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years experience building strategic relationships, preferably in a sales capacity
  2. Proven ability to influence and lead people at all levels
  3. Operational expertise in sales, parts, and service
  4. Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
  5. Excellent business planning, strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills Strong financial acumen
  6. Enthusiastic with high energy and motivated to succeed
  7. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business or equivalent experience required
